one of my favorite street sessions - 10.21.2020

After doing street photography for almost 5 years, I can say one of the best feelings when you’re out there shooting are the days you feel completely on. There are certain days that things seem to align properly through out my session and I feel that I’m getting work that I’m really enjoying.  Something that when I notice it, it makes me more confident in my approach and opens my mind up to more possibilities. October 21, 2020 was definitely one of those days.

I didn’t intend to go out shooting but the moody weather inspired me to get out of the house. Driving down to the city and seeing the fog covering our skyline gave everything such a mysterious look. There was no wind in the air so all the reflections looked clear and there were birds everywhere. It all felt a little too perfect, almost as if someone in the matrix was messing with me lol. But I was happy to be there and I made sure I took full advantage of the scenery. Once I finished getting the shots I wanted I put the camera down and enjoyed the moment to myself. Learning to be more present really helps you appreciate it more.

A few hours later I left the city to go home and decided to shoot around my neighborhood. The sky had finally cleared up and the sun was out so I wanted to capture something a little different under this new light. I ended up inviting my nephew to come with me and we walked way more than I normally would have. I think switching it up from time to time and inviting someone can be a good change of pace, especially if you rarely do it. Made my favorite set to date from my neighborhood but I’m hoping to top that soon! Hope ya’ll enjoy the photos. ✨
